When sailing, a captain manages their sails based on their estimations of the weather adjusting and readjusting to best suit the current surroundings. How a sailboat is manipulated can rapidly change its course and outcome. The same as the way a design project is approached and executed can drastically alter its success or failure. I worked on designing The Design Regatta to display all my works over the past four years to visualise my progression and experience with each project.
The boats are aligned chronologically on the vertical axes and from least satisfied to most satisfied on the horizontal axes. Ideally, the project that I am the most satisfied with has a perfect keel-to-sail ratio through a balance of confidence, efficiency and complexity. And most importantly, trustworthy crew members with whom I could sail through any storm.
